Break the Mold!

Client: Gravelee Graphics

Project: This is another of my all-time favorite projects. I was given the photo of the model with a plain pink background with the concept of having her "breaking out of a plaster mold." This was to be a cover image for a brochure to promote women's advancing roll in positions normally dominated by males. My challenge was to create a 3-D model matching her basic body form onto which I applied a plaster looking texture. I also used Bryce 1 to create a tall spiked terrain and placed the camera directly on top looking down to use in the background along with a stock photo of an explosion. I pulled all this into Photoshop and began to pull pieces of the mold out and move them a bit at a time adding shadows as needed until I had the composition you see here. The final effect is very powerful.
